TannenhofENERGY
In 2011 we have covered the halls’ roofs with a solar power system measuring 3000m² and being able to generate 500 kWp at full capacity. Thus it cannot only supply the Tannenhof with energy but also Hambuch, the village nearby.
During the constructions, we have paid a lot of attention to ensure that the solar power system perfectly harmonises with the rest of our buildings. From February 2011 onwards, TannenhofEnergy was able to feed 1,5 Gigawatt-hours electricity into the public electricity system.
However we think that our solar energy is far too valuable to be fed only into the system. Instead we have been aiming from the beginning at the creation of an infrastructure (technically as well as legally) that will allow us to use the method of electrolysis in order to produce hydrogen in the near future. Hydrogen can be used for fuel cell vehicles and Toyota, for example, is expected to release the first serial production car running on fuel cell technology in 2015. We are sure that German manufacturers will follow soon.
The Tannenhof is willing to contribute to the fuel supply of fuel cell vehicles.
We are H2 ready!
